I think I should take the opportunity to wax lyrical about a real gem in TV. I know that it’s not a new programme, and that it polarises opinion, but the Jerry Springer Show is truly brilliant.

There are many shows that enable members of the public to share their deep personal and relationship problems with the baying lynch mobs who form talk show audiences, and who wouldn’t want to be told that their boyfriend/girlfriend was having an affair in front of potentially millions of people sat at home? Only Springer manages to avoid taking itself too seriously, and manages this by a LONG way!

OK, confession time. Last night Techno Scouse caught me watching something i shouldn’t have been on TV. It involved a group of hot teens, and plenty of big naked boobs. Obviously I know these programmes are on TV most nights, but they’re always trashy pieces of crap that fill schedules. I guess I just had a moment of weakness and got found out. She’s forgiven me, but I still feel a real sense of shame and embarassment.

Quick edit… no apologies for length, but this chunky monkey of a post gets slightly political. Don’t worry, I’ll try to do a more typical discussion later.

Well, it’s a slow Saturday- the day that God decreed that men without kids should loaf around the house all day, reading the paper and drinking tea. For the record, all went well with that rule, until the Devil invented Ikea and shopping, thus damning such men to a life of infernal torment as penetance for having girlfriends.

As I have already said, I am a criminal defence lawyer. Now anytime I meet someone new (i.e. when my better third lets me integrate in society because I’ve taken my medication), one of the first questions i get asked is “how do you deal wth it when you know the person is guilty?”, or some variation.

The first thing about being asked this is that EVERY TIME, my new found friend/associate/drinking partner will say “You must get asked this all the time…”.

YES… ALL THE BLOODY TIME, SO WHY ARE YOU GOING TO BE SO PREDICTABLE AND CARRY ON THIS CRAPPY CONVERSATIONAL CUL-DE-SAC????
